Annex Heating & Hot Water Installation in Worcester | Elgar Services

When creating a new annex or additional living space, one of the most important things to get right is the heating and hot water system. The aim is to create a setup that is efficient, reliable and completely independent from the main house.

For this recent project, we were asked to install a dedicated heating and hot water system for a newly built annex.

A compact system designed to save space

To keep the living space as open as possible, the entire heating system was installed in the loft area of the annex. This meant we could keep the ground floor free from bulky equipment while still ensuring everything remained easily accessible for servicing and maintenance.

The system includes a 6kW boiler connected to a 180 litre pressurised hot water cylinder, providing plenty of hot water while maintaining efficient heating throughout the annex.

Separate heating and hot water control

A key requirement for this project was to allow the annex to operate completely independently from the main property. By installing separate heating and hot water controls, the occupants can manage their own heating schedules and hot water usage without affecting the main house.

This is particularly useful for annex spaces used by family members, guests, or as independent living accommodation.
