1. Check Your Radiators Are Heating Properly

Once your heating is back in regular use, pay attention to anything that doesn't seem quite right.

• Radiators taking a long time to warm up
• Some rooms staying colder than others
• Unusual noises from the boiler or heating system
• Leaks around radiators, pipework or the boiler
• Heating or hot water cutting in and out

6. Keep the Heat in

Your heating system can only do so much if warm air is escaping from the property.

Check around windows and external doors for noticeable draughts and make sure radiators aren't hidden behind large furniture or heavy curtains. Simple changes can help warm air circulate around the room more effectively.

7. Don't Ignore Condensation and Damp

Cooler weather often means windows stay closed for longer, making condensation more noticeable.
